After we all went inside and sat at a table and welcomed everyone. Then one table went up one by one and got some food to start us of with the night. It was also Miss McLeod´s birthday!! :D  Later on after we had everything to eat we went outside onto the stage and took some photos. Then it turned to 7:30 and everyone went home. These are some photos of last night.

We do & We don't

Kia Ora Readers!

Last week we did a activity in 'Digital Citizenship.' We had to write on a google drawing "We do & We don't." We all had to start on the mat and had some out of line cards and we had to write some rules that would fit into any of the cards. Then we had to get them all and then seprate them into We do & We don't. This is what it looks like!

Do you think some of these are the right thing to do.

The Red Ball

 Kia Ora Readers!

Yesterday we started reading a book called 'The Red Ball.' In the story there were 2 main characters, May and Ida. Then we had to do an activity by choosing one of the characters and writing about them and such as what they do and how they act. I chose May to write about. I made mine all on Jam board. This is my work!

Trespass ~ Colloquial language and phrases

Hey There!

Yesterday in Reading we did read a new book called 'Trespass.' Places were it could have a sign saying "No Trespassing." Means that it is a restricted area and your not allowed inside that building or outside area. Then after we read it we had to do an activity and it had words and phrases and we had to find the real meaning of them. I found this a bit challenging but then I got some help and then I finally finished it. This is my work!

DLO Problem Of The Week 4

こんにちは読者 ( Hello Readers )

This week we have a different Problem of the week. This time we did not have a piece of paper to write on for our idea of solving the problem so we just went straight onto our DLO. I found this easy and hard at the same time but more of easy. This is my DLO.

Persuade Gaming Addiction

 こんにちは ( Hello )

For the past few days my group in Writing has been writing about 'Gaming Addiction.' My argument is that we should persuade children not to play video games. We had to start with a introduction and then our argument about why gaming should be banned. Then our 4 main ideas, and then for the end was our conclusion. Before all of this we did a hamburger plan so we could copy all of our ideas onto a template which made the ideas come together. This is my writing.

Do you think gaming should be banned or no ??

In my opinion I think children shouldn’t be able to play video games.

I think this because children are watching too much violence and watching bad content, the main point is that too many video games have violent, inappropriate content.

Another reason is sleeping, where lots of kids spend their day and night on video games which causes sleeping problems so people don’t get enough sleep and energy.

Also kids under the age of 12 are addicted to inappropriate and violent video games. There’s also a thing called gaming disorder ( internet gaming ), which causes depression, and gambling.

Lots of parents say that gaming is not very educational for their kids so they tell them to get off their devices and tell them to go outside and do some activities to get them active, because they will gain weight and not have enough strength to do other things like school activities.

Children should not be able to play video games because of the violence and inappropriate content.

DLO Problem Of The Week 2

 Kia Ora Readers!

This week we have a different problem for the week. It is called 'Sharing Cards.' We had to do 2 problems with the same answer then after that we had to make a 'DLO' (Digital Learning Objects) showing how we solved the question. I found this kind of easy but when we had to write the problem it was quite hard. This is my DLO.

Have you ever made a DLO?

DLO Problem Of The Week 1

 你好 讀者群 (Ni Hao Readers)

For a few days in Miss McClellands Math class we have been doing a Maths problem involving fractions. I found this quite difficult but then I figured out a bit more what it meant. The math question was on a piece of paper and after we figured it out and wrote down our answer and how we solved it, we made a DLO ( digital learning objects ) I made a slide show on google slides of how I solved the answer. This is my DLO.

Have you ever used fractions in a equation before?

Technology / Clothing

 Kia Ora Readers

For the past weeks in Technology / Clothing we have been making clothes. My group was, me, Kristhel, and Meiana. First we got a big piece of paper and traced someone onto it and designed it. After we transferred it onto another piece of paper and did the same thing. After that we got stapler and stapled the 2 pieces of paper and put it on someone and see if it would fit. Then we got some fabric and did the same thing as the paper, but this time the teacher sewed it. Me and my group also made a skirt which we did the same thing with the shirt. Our model was Ashavi she wasn't in our group but she was the only one who could fit it.

Have you ever made your old clothes?

This is all my groups blog if you want to check it out.

Calendar Art / Dot Art

 Kia Ora Readers!

For the past few weeks in Calendar Art we got to choose a a group for Art. There is 3 groups, Falling Down a Tunnel, Kandinsky Circles, and Dot Art. I'm in Dot Art. We had to do a draft on a piece of white paper. Then we put drew the same thing onto a piece of black paper. We could change the design if we wanted, I changed my design because I didn't really like it. The colours I used were blue, pink, yellow, green, and white. After it dried the teacher stuck it onto a Calendar Art sheet. They wrote our name and our age and our class room. This is my Calendar Art!

Have you ever done Dot Art or Calendar Art before?

Make My Sentences Better

Today in Mrs Jones writing group we did a activity of how to make our sentences better. We had to start with a boring simple sentence and then add some adverbs to it to make it better. This is what my sentences started with and ended with to make better.

Have you ever done this before?

Greetings/Farewells

Kia Ora!
A few weeks ago me and Ella did a video of greetings and farewells. We had to write down a script so we had everything planned so we knew what to say. The whole conversation had to be in Maori. The conversation was about saying "Hello" In Maori and say how we feel. It was pretty confusing and hard but then we just quickly took a look at our book. This is the video me and Ella did.

Cartoon Me

Kia Ora!
Today in our Homeroom's for Digital Citizenship we continued on with our 'Cartoon Me.' Today I finished it and now I'm blogging it! Just a quick recap on what we had to do, we had to take a photo of our self and trace all of the highlights on our face. We used a app on our Chromebook called 'Colour pick Eyedropper.' It was a app that we could hover over the spots and it will show us what colour our face and highlights are.

Here is mine!
Have you ever done something like this before?

Kia Ora,
Today in Mrs Jones Reading group we did a story web about the story we read. It was a template about Character, Setting, Feelings, Outcome, Action, and Problem. The template was all in order to Characters, and settings.
